Our Vision-

Our children deserve to be in a safe and happy learning environment where they can feel confident to grow and achieve. We strive to build trusting and secure relationships. Our staff genuinely care about each child as an individual and the families with whom we work with. We ensure we have stimulated and happy children. We support the children to be caring, curious, courageous and collaborative. We are committed and strive to be the best we can be for the children we teach. The strong and experienced team share the same drive, vision and passion. Children in our Reception setting follow a unique curriculum. We understand that children begin their learning journey from different starting points and are working at different stages in their development. The Early Years Foundation Stage both celebrates and builds upon this. Our Curriculum has seven main areas of learning. All areas of learning and development are important and inter-connected. These areas are particularly crucial for igniting children’s curiosity and enthusiasm for learning, and for building their capacity to learn, form relationships and thrive. The curriculum is divided into prime and specific areas. A practical, play based approach to learning, based on the needs and interests of our children is delivered. The children are the driving force in the themes chosen. Through a combination of adult led and child initiated opportunities, learning is planned to encourage children to develop their learning independently through exploration and challenge. The “Characteristics of Effective Learning” also underpin the Early Years Curriculum and explore the different ways in which children learn. They highlight the importance of playing and learning, active learning and thinking critically. All the learning experiences we plan for the children allow them to utilise and develop these skills. Our learning environments, both inside and outside, are stimulating and exciting, and relevant to the needs and age/stage of our children. We promote an atmosphere conducive to learning, whilst easily accessible resources both indoors and out develop children’s ability to access the curriculum independently.

Please don’t expect too much of me,

I’m learning more than you can see,

Simply being here to enjoy and play.

Means more to me than words can say.

Please don’t fret at the end of the day,

If I have nothing to display.

I really gain so much from play,

Social skills and come what may,

So when I come home empty handed

From such a very busy play

Please don’t say…

“Haven’t you done anything today?”
