Welcome to Year 4
Welcome back to school, Happy New Year to you all. I hope your holiday was restful and you are ready for a hardworking and enjoyable but short term.
• P.E takes place on Wednesday pm. Full kits need to be in school, including track suit bottoms for cold weather, trainers and socks for girls that wear tights. Please ensure that earrings are removed before your child comes to school on P.E days if your child is unable to remove them independently. Also, the kits need to be in their special yellow PE bags, these can be purchased from the office if you need one. Alongside this, half the class will be swimming this half- term, If you child has had a letter or did not swim the last half term, they will need their swimming kit, with swimming hat and towel in school on Friday morning please. Thank you.
• Home learning is set on Fridays and is due in on the following Wednesday.
• English writing task and Maths task are set on a Friday along with the home learning menu and books. Timetables are tested on Wednesdays and spellings on Fridays.
• Your child will have an independent reading book. To maximise their progress in reading and therefore in writing, they must read at home for 10 minutes each day, both independently and to a willing listener. Also, please continue to make comments about your child’s reading in their book. Please keep an eye on your child’s reading and ensure that their reading record book is in school with their reading book, every day.
